My Background

 This is my 16th year teaching 7th grade science.  I have had experience teaching both 6th and 8th graders, but 7th graders are my true passion.

I did my student-teaching at Irving at the same time my husand did.  I was placed at 6th grade and he was placed at 7th grade science - that was an interesting semester.  My first job was at Whittier where I taught for 4 years.  When the move to 4 middle schools began I thought the chance to start a brand new middle school was a chance I couldn't pass up so I moved to Alcott.  A move I have never regretted.

I have moved between being a Team Leader and a Science Department Chair, and both jobs have been fun.  However, being in the classroom with 7th graders is my favorite part.  I often tease that I wouldn't teach any other grade - there's just something about 7th grade that I identify with.  My husband says its because I never grew up - who knows - maybe he's right!
